We would propose that students work in binational teams to solve a real-world market intelligence challenge in the agribusiness sector, using a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) approach. Specifically, students would collaboratively define and investigate a market opportunity or strategic problem related to an agribusiness product, service, or value chain present in both countries. The project would involve comparing customer journeys, market structures, and institutional contexts across countries through desk research, qualitative interviews, and simple market experiments. By jointly collecting and analyzing data, students would identify market segments, test value propositions, and generate actionable insights to support managerial decision-making. The final outcome would be a market intelligence report with comparative findings and strategic recommendations, complemented by an individual intercultural reflection on how cultural, economic, and institutional differences influence market behavior and research outcomes. This activity enables students to apply research methods in an international context while developing analytical, collaborative, and intercultural competencies.
